Too many dreams

2026…is…HERE! People often make resolutions*, even if in jest. I do like the practice. I’ve never run out of goals. Usually, I have too many. These goals, often born out of life long hopes, become little steps to getting the NEXT dream that much closer.

I’d love to record some personal and praise songs this year. I’d love to find more people to put on worship nights/recitals/concerts (more coming about this! Stay tuned 🙂 ) These are manageable goals, but what about those farfetched ones? Like learning how to conduct an orchestra would be nice (and actually getting to wave my arms around in front of a real one). Or mastering all sorts of new instruments. Outside of music, I have thoughts for anything and everything. Children’s products. Books. Artwork. Life enrichment programs. Traveling. Businesses of all kinds. Too. Many. Dreams.

Recently, I’ve come to terms with the thought that I may not get to it all. Do I find myself disheartened? Nope. I believe God gives people dreams for fulfilling, but perhaps, fulfilling on the other side of eternity. We’re MADE for forever, and there’s a part of us that will live forever. I believe we dream so many dreams and have so many different interests because in heaven, we will keep pursuing those dreams. In God’s perfect, original plan of creation, we were never meant to die (thanks, sin). It wouldn’t be a problem to have a million ideas because we’d have the ability to chase those dreams, well, forever.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6.23 ESV (emphasis mine)

Without Jesus taking the punishment for us, we would just have this life to live and nothing more. But now we have access to eternity in heaven if we receive His free gift of salvation. I’m going to add getting better at telling others about Jesus’ sacrifice and gift to my list of dreams for 2026.

*As a fun little New Year’s resolution, I’m going to commit to practicing guitar every day for all of January (I am dreamer, but also a dash realistic). Will post video updates to keep me accountable 🙂
